Here is the blurb from Citronic:

The cutting edge Citronic MP-X10 is a media/MIDI MP3 player and mixer specifically designed to become the ultimate all-in-one mobile DJ unit. It can be used in 3 ways eliminating the need to choose between either a PC software and MIDI controller, or the traditional two media players and a mixer set-up. Firstly, the unit can be used as a stand-alone player. Simply plug in a USB flash or hard drive and access the music on either side of the player by the MP3 track and folder search buttons, viewing the ID3 tags on the large VDF display. You can then mix and add effects between each player using the built-in 2 channel mixer. Secondly, the unit can be switched into MIDI mode, which is compatible with many popular DJ software packages. This feature allows you to control your music and the sound set-up with the built-in sound card driver. Finally, the versatile MP-X10 can be used as MIDI controller on one half and stand-alone player and mixer on the other. Simply access a song on your PC and control it using the DJ software, then cue up your next track on the USB storage device and mix across. This unit is easy to transport, quick to set-up and simple to use, making it ideal for mobile DJs.

  • Alan, can you send me your mobile number? PM me, need to know what sound settings in VDJ. Get nothing but distortion. Cheers

  • @Chazyorkshire sorry for the delay in responding, just seen this. I no longer have this unit but I recall that the sound setup was set to "simple" and then I just selected the MPX10 (speakers) as the sound card output. I was using the latest version of VDJ and windows vista, so it could be slightly different depening on what you are using.

  • Apparently Citronic will be releasing some mapping files for traktor and VDJ very shortly!

  • it's a nice bit of kit. I thought I would do a video as I couldn't find any when I was looking at buying this product.

  • crossfader XD

  • What are devices like these called exactly? USB mixers? MP3 controllers?

  • So what it is is a "keyboard" for you're computer to play music with? :D

  • Hmm... want to update firmware to the sync f/w... it's got beat synched fx (e.g. 1/4, 1/2 of a beat). Also using the synchron firmware, you can also get auto loops (set size loops, so no need for frame accurate triggering of in & out buttons... will let you know how I get on.. whether I succeed, fail, or brick the unit!

  • Is this the same as the djinn audiophony? How many different brandings and companies are putting this unit out? Taiwanese or Chinese?

  • how responsive is the cross fader?

  • Will make my own vid soon (+es & -es), now that I have had the unit for aboot a month. Bought it for £470 (cheapest I could find) and it saw it earlier today for £400 (Guildford sound and light), which is the price of the American Audio Versadeck (same unit)... guess Citronic couldn't charge that much extra for the name!

  • The level thing has supposedly been sorted in a firmware release. Citronic's fix is just to use the mixer in NON-MIDI mode... so you cannot use the hi/mid/lo/gain knobs for FX. That's NOT a fix!! Did you find the the folder/file knobs were round the wrong way (file on left). This is counter intuitive (you 1st want to pick folder using left knob) and then file (using right knob). This is not the way that it is implemented.. keep changing folder by mistake... esp. annoying when in big folders

  • @alansroadshow : Just curious, why did you get rid of it? Problems, or just went to something you liked better?

  • link for the file?
