http://100daystory.com/poetry-writing-part-1-poetic-devices/ ---visit link for more information
this is the beginning of what might be an ongoing poetry writing series...not as technical as what they might teach in schools but based loosely on the same structure...this first part is a standard getting you familiar with a few poetic devices that are common throughout a poem whether subtle or overt...if i had gone into more detail the video would have been dramatically longer and half hour is more than enough time to sit in one place...so if you feel as though something might be missing feel free to research further and stay in tune...i will not focus on standardized poems such as haiku and sonnets but more concentrate on the core of poetry which is the connection that can be formed between the reader and the writer...this first part is as technical as these videos might get as the next videos (if i do get the time to continue) will most likely concentrate on developing writing and communication skills in the format of poetry.
*the video was originally meant to be in short 7-9 min parts but after realizing that YouTube allowed for videos longer than 15 mins i left the entire video in tact...so feel free to skip through to the parts that interest you.
