Homage or Stealing - Star Wars & Eragon

A quick comparison of Star Wars & Eragon explaining how Eragon is a rip-off of Star Wars.

(This is as example of a straight and solid 1-take shot. No editing, no cuts, just me going off of what I've thought out and trying to stay under 90 seconds so I could post this on the Rotten Tomatoes Show. So sorry if it doesn't have anything flashy...)

Here's the difference though. That is a more apt comparison for stories like STAR WARS and LORD OF THE RINGS, where they share certain classic themes and idea but have stories that diverge in a lot of ways.

ERAGON almost beat for beat follows the plot of A NEW HOPE. The book has a bit more in between events that makes it a bit different, but when you look at the main/pivotal events than it becomes a bit more obvious. It was still a fun read, but I hesitate to not call it a rip off

I do agree, there are a lot of similarities, but he was fifteen when he started writing and star wars and lord of the rings greatly influenced him. I don't know if you have read the book, but if you haven't, then you cant judge the book at all. I love the books, but the movie is the biggest piece of shit since sliced bread. (i hate bread)
