Just a bit of fun really.. Nitdroid currently has so many drawbacks its not really usable but performance is excellent so there's hope for the future! My N900 is in retirement these days but its there a toy to play with!

  • Hi there greenmoose7708

first nice vid man, keep it up ;)

    had several question

V.IMP>does whatsapp work on your android n900 version?

and was asking if you might do a tutorial how did you do install a dual boot maemo5+android .. or atleast type it in easy steps like for beginners starting from the very basics

and also heard that it require a certain external micro SD cards with a certain class like class 6 i guess, is that true? and what class and size ur using?

    thanks man

    appreciate it :)

  • @EsSoOoO007 hi there, glad you liked the vid! if you add the extras-devel and extras-testing just search for an app called Nitdroid installer, this will do most of the hard work for you including making the dual boot work. But i strongly advise you google "nitdroid n12" for forum posts that'll help how to install the latest version available based on Gingerbread - its much better and installed on the internal memory with a slight OC, very fast!

  • @greenmoose7708 i do actually have footage of my early gingerbread efforts, i am too lazy to edit it though ;) oh and as for your SD card question, pretty sure it was on a class 4 actually!

  • hi i hve n900 mobile can i install android in it, is it faster den maemo 5? how u did dis frnd pls reply? should i contact nokia ppl for dis or i can do it myself?

  • @singhbakshi trying to say if android is faster than maemo is virtually impossible, they're quite different. the N900 does run Android perfectly well however - personally i'd say to the same standard. Bear in mind that while android runs fine the latest version of Android i've tried does not yet support making or recieving phone calls, i understand it DOES allow SMS in the latest (gingerbread version) but i've not tested this as i just use my N900 as an android tablet on wifi!

  • @singhbakshi also this is a do it yourself job, google nitdroid to find the website with the info you need!

  • Is there a good version for nitroid or not?

  • @greenmoose7708 GR8 info !!!! :D

    thanks very much bro :))

yet there is one important question (A) .. does whatsapp , nimbuzz and these kinda apps works efficiently on the nitdoid version?

and thanks a million man :D really appreciate it :)

  • @blaze179 i jumped ship after the N900 and got a Samsung Galaxy S2... i've since got the N900 running Gingerbread off the internal memory with a steady 800mhz overclock! cant believe they replaced an N900 with an E7.. wtf! you must have been pissed.

  • You lucky bastard! ;-)

My Nokia N900 went to Smartphone-Heaven and Nokia sent me a E7 instead of repairing it. That was the last time I got a Nokia phone...
