THAT report was NEVER shown again (or mentioned )

@ashwack49 When ireland acheived independance the British held onto the north by drawing an artifical border where protestants were a slight majority

Catholics didnt have the vote or jobs

When the civil rights marches startedt, they were attacked +supressed by the ruling unionists +police

Thats when the Provisional IRA broke from the old IRA to defend catholic ghettos

The IRAs objectives were to hit the UK economically by targeting economy + military, to force them to negotiate

@jonga1972 I saw the ORIGINAL RTE report about 1 hour after it happened .

There was a caption to the left of the news reader . It said "BOMB " 200 metres , court-house"

Theyre the words the RUC woman wrote on her pad , who took the call.

The message was OBVIOUS (theres a bomb 200m from the courthouse)

THAT report was NEVER shown again

It was stage managed by the RUC to cause MAX casualties, therby destroying the RIRA (which worked) because they were threat to peace process

I'm from California. The closest I've ever been to Ireland is Las Vegas. From what little I know of the situation, is that Northern Ireland wants something. So they're solution is to ... Bomb themselves? It's not that I don't respect the seriousness of the situation, it's just that I'm an outsider and so it all seems a bit self defeating.

@mrmagic1989 The IRA didn't carry out this. It was carried out by a break-away group of psychopaths who have no respect for the will of the majority of the people. The so-called 'Real' IRA are not the IRA.
