Foo Fighters. Walk. Stolen?

Did the Foo Fighters steal the idea for their Walk video from Multi-Purpose Chemical's Human?

I mean, they're both a 'homage' to Falling Down -- sure.

And this is obviously a cut-down version of the two.

But there's no 'finger giving in traffic' scene in Falling Down, and no-one gets a burger in the face either.

I'm just saying.

I mean -- it doesn't matter. I'm not bothered or anything.

I mean sure, the Foo Fighters are now enjoying the International mega-stardom that - by rights - history had reserved for the mighty MPC (had their skill with a well delivered parody been properly recognized in their own time.)

And sure, you could probably lay the blame for the tragic demise of Multi-Purpose Chemical directly at the door of the Foo Fighters for this very reason if you wanted to.

And sure -- if MPC were still together today you can bet the popular music press would currently be bearing witness to a titanic war of words unprecedented since the dark days of Oasis and Blur.

Jackson and McCartney.

Duff and Lohan.

But none of that really matters does it? I'm just being silly.

MPC were always sick live. Coming from someone who likes and has seen both bands, I had a better time at an MPC gig than a Foo Fighters show.

Foo's director watched it and thought "I can do better" and "I have millions and millions of dollars to make it better". 10 points awarded to Foo's for song and video execution, 0 points awarded for originality of parody choice, -2 points for copying moments of MPC video that were not in the movie Falling Down. 1 point awarded to MPC for their videos impact on the mainstream, -2 points for stealing this idea from the Foo's 5 years before Foo's made it, -9 points for not giving a shit.
