The only emulators I use are MAME & 8-bit machines... Genuine PAL PS2 old brick-style unit used - captured via PC TV card.

OMG!! I did it! Finally! I got a 23.680 for Gold! For any of those struggling with it, use Manual Transmission instead of AT it's much better for this test.. Stay in 3rd until the final corner and shift down to 2nd as you go into the corner it'll really help to bleed off the speed, only shift up to 3rd again as you're approaching the finish.
