Not sure how great a video this is. The first part had an odd angle, and it's all sped up, but wth, I'm uploading ;)

  • I think the reason it pales in comparison to your other drawings is that she seems like she's wearing too much make-up, so it doesn't seem very natural. Just my opinion though - I'm probably wrong ;)

  • I think I forgot to mention : not done yet in the end. I added a few lighter layers so that she didn't look half sun burned ;)

  • It's very good, but I much rather prefer your graphite drawings like the Jesse Spencer one.

  • Thank you! I wasn't really happy with the proportions of the end result of this one, but I did like how the colors turned out.

More people say they prefer my graphite stuff, but I get bored if I only draw in greyscale ;)

  • wow...it looks as if she's going to pop out of the drawing...

Amazing, I've always envied people who can draw...

are you going to show us the final drawing? :)

  • The camera should be on the other hand, we do not see what she does.

But we saw the beautiful hand of the artist!

    good work!

  • Whoaa. So awesome. I wish I could draw like that. Or even half as good as that. :P

  • Skin color is hell! ;) I'm using Canson MiTeintes paper here, but the "smoother" side of it. I've tried velours paper, but can't do a thing with it, not enough tooth! Guess I'll try painting over it someday, maybe that works.

Bonus of pastels is that when you can't "layer" anymore with pastel pencils, you can still layer with softer chalk pastels - those will still "stick". I've never tried matboard by the way, it is supposedly great for graphite too?

  • I love this so far. I have the hardest time getting the coloring right on people's skin tones. What advise do you recommend and what paper were you using. It looks really smooth. I have this textured paper that I just hate (it has indentations in it htat are too obvious---its name escapes me at the moment). But pastels need some tooth, but I don't like alot.

I would like to try a "face" one day, but right now, I'm into animals done on suede matboard.

  • that's so cool ;)

  • this is AWESOME. god I wish I could draw. I love her so much and this is gorgeous.

  • You are a very good drawer. I tried to draw Lisa but yours is more ressembling than mine, a lot more.

I don't really like this picture, a little old, but your drawing is just great !

    Love it !

    (sorry for my poor english)

  • I think the eyes are really well captured !

    nice work !
