i just got the d2 today...and there is a way to switch patterns using the pads... just hod down the "Asiign 1" button, spin the wheel to PTN, and asign the pad to pattern

me i cant record from the keyboard except as a step... no real time recording ? i do everything the manual says and it still input the note on the step where the dial is curenly set... as if i had press enter except it as the right key !... also it doest emit any midi signal on any channel when a pattern is played . Checking the settings didt fix it.... it only send RPS signal for some reason. Any help ?
i had a choice between D2 and MC307.. both are based on the MC505 engine which itself is based on the JV synth.. i chose the MC307 because it had the most sounds, 800 patches, and had more hands-on interface closer to MC505.. however i find the D-Field pad on D2 very interesting because its basically what Korg Kaossilator copied.. though the D2 is a complete groovebox with sequencer.. well if i find D2 for very cheap i might get it too

its always a good idea to add more drum machines to your arsenal. if you can find a D-2 for under $50 bucks that would be a great deal since you can make some great stuff with it :)

I was considering this device as an alternative to the more expensive mc-505. Does it have the classic roland drum sounds, such as the 808 and 909? Also, is that a sticker on the touch pad?

@kewldevice no its not a sticker that is how it looks its kinda kile a bulls eye . it does have the 808 and 909 sounds but i have not compared them to anything but they are on there. if you dowload the manual look twords the end and it will tell you all the sounds it has loaded on it

I'm pretty lost when it comes to syncing up with midi controllers, i have an axiom 61 and when i hit something on my keyboard it changes the pitch or just doesn't work at all. Need some info about pairing them up not to mention need to change the volumes on different banks?

i have never worked with an axiom before but the roland d-2 is pretty difficult when it comes to setting up midi. make sure you have the roland in slave mode or the other passive mode not master. keep changing the filter setting on the roland that might help the pitch problem you have you could also try assigning different midi channels for each or putting them on the same. thats just off the top of my head
