My favorite romance novels are by far historical romances, especially those set in times of the Monarchy. I especially love when the writer uses real history and adds fiction to it. I really don't know if I could pick from them all though, I enjoy many.

M/M part - because I firmly believe everyone has the right to love and romance. There should be no prejudice. We should all rejoice when ANYONE is blessed enough to find a soul mate (as many go through out life with no one to love.)

Love is love, no matter how you make it. And nothing states that more strongly than GLBT romance - the root of M/M romance.
