Christian: Stop quoting the bible out of context!

The Crazy Fundamentalist is back! As in most of my videos,I am trying to fight back the stupid "moderate" or "liberal" Christians. It really upsets me when they blaspheme the LORD by taking quotes...

"Maybe Jesus really was thinking, 'the man stupid enough to follow this advice deserves to be hit twice'."

I have a question for you. Everything that has a beginning has a cause, then what caused the universe? To state that the "big bang" caused it is not sufficient as the big bang if accepted is and event. But what caused the Big Bang? Does apparent design in the universe, bot at a macroscopic and micorscopic level suggest chance or design? Who made God? Unlike the universe, God is infinite and eternal, transends time matter and space God can logically be demonstrated to the uncreated First Cause.

Your challenge doesn't make sense " You'r e asking a "Christian" to answer the quesion of origin of universe without using God... Notice the quotes on "Christian" You're basically want someone who believes in God and upholds the belief the God as the Creator to give an answer to the origin o the universe without using God?? it doesn't make sense.

What I'm trying to do is find christians who do NOT use "god did it" as their answer to unknowable issues (which, as I explained in a previous post, is not a real answer) or dispute scientific theories on the sole basis of the word of the bible--essentially, open-minded christians. I've seen far too many christians on youtube that are really closed-minded and I want to see if the preconception that all christians on youtube are that ignorant and militant can be disproven.

I'm an atheist--I don't agree with christianity, in fact it's the religion I left to become atheist--but I don't like stereotyping people. I'm willing to see good in people whose beliefs I don't agree with. But in the case of christians, most of the ones I see on youtube are the angry kind who go around damning all non-christians and who spam line after line of bible verses on atheist videos. I know not all christians are like that, but I want to hear that from the people who aren't like that.

That is a fair enough desire, but I suspect most Christians (even those who would not dream of rejecting evolution) would like to think God had a hand in the process. For example, some might say that although it seems obvious that the theory of the big bang is correct, they believe God initiated the process. You have said that this is 'not a real answer', but if the answer is (at present) un-knowable, it logically remains as likely an answer as anything else...

... Further, if the sum of a person's experience points to the validation of a Christian meta-narrative, would it not be irresponsible to simply say 'I cannot be sure, so I will not think about it?'. Just some thoughts.

But then in that case, "god" would be the answer to why, not how. "How" is more often than not the primary question: how was the universe created? How did humans come to exist? So I revise my statement: IF a god exists, he could be an answer, but to the wrong question. The Big Bang COULD have happened because of god--i.e. why it happened--but even if he DID create the universe, HOW did he do so? "You can't create something out of nothing," so a universe can't pop up out of thin...dark matter.

The problem is people who claim that a god is the answer to how instead of (just) why. The origin of the universe? "Because god is god and can do whatever he wants and we shouldn't question him?" Wrong! No way I'll accept that. "Because of an explosion that released all the matter and energy that makes up everything in the universe--and MAYBE there was a power that we don't yet understand that created the forces that started that explosion?" That I am much more willing to believe. You see?

Completely, I just think that you might be pleasantly surprised by the ratio of Christians who accept the 'how' of the big bang (with the proviso of a theistic 'first cause'), as opposed to the relatively small number of true creationists who insist on a literal Genesis. Of course, I may well be being overly positive! Anywho, nice chatting with you, you gave me some interesting thoughts.
