For those learning Python, one of the best features of the interpreter is the help() function. For instance, to find out about the replace function, open up the Python interpreter and type:
help(str.replace)
and voila! a complete description of replace's interface.

One thing bout code. Practice makes perfect and once you learn one language you can relate the syntax to the other language to help learn it. practice practice practice!
