Minorities who are qualified can compete, regardless of any racial preferences. Affirmative action is an idea whose time has passed. It's a left-wing anachronism based on faulty logic and misleading evidence. We never needed affirmative action. We just needed people to be treated equally and fairly. No one's race should come into play when applying for a job or scholarship. They should have to work hard in competition with ALL applicants, regardless of skin color.
