  • What we refer to as 'high fidelity audio' is really a higher bandwidth for sound (as well as a better signal to noise ratio). This is why a microcassette tape at 1.2 centimeters/second will sound worse than an open-reel deck at 18 centimeters per second. Likewise, the very beginning of this video is what a a low bandwidth audio system would do to your waves.
