Fernando Poe Jr. stars in Hemisphere Pictures' THE WALLS OF HELL. Also starring Jock Mahoney (the Tarzan of Hollywood), Mike Parsons, Oscar Roncal, Paul Edwards Jr and Cecilia Lopez as Tina Sorenson.
Jointly directed by the legend Eddie Romero and the master GERRY de LEON..
This is one of the two war movies made by Da King for international release. The other one was THE RAVAGERS..aka..HANGGANG MAY KALABAN.
Fort Santiago in the Philippines, built in 1574, was called "Intramuros, the walled city of Manila. The story centered around Intramuros and the events that occurred there in February of 1945. After Japanese troops were finally showing defeat in Manila, they retreated into the fortress with 10,000 Filipino captives. American Lieutenant Jim Sorenson (Jock Mahoney), whose wife is held inside the fort, is instructed to rescue the prisoners with his guerrilla forces. Lt. Sorenson finds help from a brave Filipino named Sgt. Leonardo Maglaya ( Fernando Poe Jr.) who was a prisoner and managed to escape the fortress himself.
This movie has two versions, the local one titled INTRAMUROS and the international version THE WALLS OF HELL

So she's supposed to be Filipina eh. hmm... I think Barbara Perez will be nice or Boots Anson Roa. Not completely convinced with Lopez.

in the story, is the lieutenant's wife supposed to be Filipina? The actress they got looks Asian. If the storyline says she's supposed to be Causasian, it's a miscast. There are so many Filipino actresses that time that will be more suitable for a Caucasian role, including Mrs. Poe. She could just dye her hair blond anyway her features are hispanic.
