HUM, On the Path Episode 1 A Naming of Parts

This is the saga of HUM, On the Path. A 43 segment series of episodes, memory jags, jazz pieces celebrating the exploits of HUM as he goes through role changes, reversals, life, love, the coming of age in the New Hollywood, and the perpetual assistance of his Mom as she rolls along through the years. This mini digital feature film is designed to be set as a play within a play, centered around the goings on in the backyard as well as a the "Presidential Suite" in Hollywood. Essentially 3 main continuing characters, HUM, MOM, and KATALIST. There will be additional actors added as the series continues. Chief among these will be the twin ladies, BEE & CEE, part of the new wave movement.

The late Mr. Bob Mitchell of Mitchell's Boys Choir will also make several more appearances in the later episodes of HUM. However, he is not in this one.

The re-appearance of Odile, "T, Tanya" will happen rather soon. Odile was instrumental in "HUM, She Showers" as well as the multitude of early films that I posted as part of an ongoing ensemble cast.

The next episode, memory jag, jazz piece that I will post should take place on September 16th or 17th. After that, it will probably take place around September 26th to coincide with Irya Gmeiner's World Tour that is taking her from Norway, to Dusseldorff, Germany, Moscow, France, and Brooklyn, New York before winding up at her home country of Stockholm, Sweden.

I am thankful for so many world - class musicians who have allowed me to use their music in this initial segment of "HUM."

A sincere note of appreciation for Tony Smith of Pittsburgh for the rousing opening title credit music, " 1 Love Bullet," and Fly AND Rick Williams of Williams & Williams' music, "The Coming of the Time" for the ending credit music. Originally, I had planned to use "The Coming of the Time" for the opening of the HUM episodes; however, the flavor of the music ties in closely with the end of the project rather than the beginning. In the future, I might go back to using it at the beginning

The music by L PERRY of the U K is timely, poignant, and sets the style of the men working and happy to have a job in which their skills make them who they are in society. In a sense, this film is my ode to the working men of the world. I spent a goodly amount of time speaking with the crew as they went about their business of repairing outdated telephone poles that had been in place since Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Presidency in 1932. This year, 2009, represents light years of change.
