1944. World War II is drawing to a close. Although it appears that an allied victory is almost inevitable, groups of children are still being evacuated to the safety of the British countryside.
Following a horrific bus crash, one group of evacuees stumble across an abandoned building with a dark secret. Hidden thirty metres below the surface lies Trinity Research Facility where, two years previously, British scientists had been experimenting on unexploded Nazi bombs.
Finding themselves locked inside, they slowly discover the fate that met the previous inhabitants and what, if anything, is still hiding deep underground.
Just when they thought they were safe, came the Blackout.
A short feature film by Joe Johnson & Andrew Pritchard, shot on location at Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker in August 2011 with actors of The Young Actors Company Ltd.
Blackout was premiered at the Cambridge Arts Picturehouse on November 26th 2011.
DVDs will be available in the New Year.
