hand made stamps - a simple visual tutorial for beginners

Hand made stamps can be used to develop beautiful backgrounds and designs on fabric and paper. After being inspired by other artists I have learned how to create stamps and use them. I hope through this video to inspire you and to provide a bit of simple visual instruction in how you might create your own stamps. I also show resources for much more detailed instruction.

There's a bit of "play" time on the video. To me, art is very much about returning to childhood, finding time to play so that we might let our creative juices flow more readily.

not one of my better videos lol. there's not really much to it. the first example is fun foam. cut out any kind of shapes - glue to backing in whatever design you like. for second one you sketch the design and rub as suggested onto a piece of rubber. you then carve. I was suggesting that there are books & magazines with more info. the part about play was obviously not clear. you can use SO many different things for stamping - bubble wrap, fingertips, pencil erasers, carved veggies. have FUN!
