Medicine Ball rotational exercises are good for developing explosive strength and power in your obliques and core.
Exercises which you throw and slam medicine balls are great for elevating the heart rate to use as bridge exercises too keep workouts going without rest breaks.
For this exercise you are trying to isolate your mid section so kneeling is best because it takes away the ability to rotate the hips to generate power.
Make sure you are turning your torso from one extreme to the other. Start with the ball on your shoulder and chop across the middle of your body downwards spiking the ball to the rebounder, wall or your partner.
