Mamma mia... mi ricordo Rigacci quasi ragazzo a Milano, al concorso Ciani del 1980, dove arrivò secondo o terzo ex-aequo! Bravo.

Complimenti per la memoria! Si, la 111 era uno dei cavalli di battaglia di quegli anni.... insieme alla sonata op.22 e la Fantasia op.17 di Schumann, la 8 di Prokofiev, e la 9 di Scriabin..... Quanti ricordi!

Stunning! Best rendition of Clair de Lune so far on Youtube that I've seen. I don't like the electronic ones, nor the ones that have the player putting no emotion in (all are way too fast). Good to see someone making real music.

A classical romantic interpretation which is perhaps arguably the best one so far on Youtube. It is incredible how many interpretations this delicate piece of music can generate. To me, some miss the spirit altogether, some play it nicely, but Pietro Rigacci is in the league of those who get it right and please the soul. Kudos!

That is a good point... I think there is a difference between acting like you feel something, and actually feeling it completely without being sentimental. I tend to be too rigid when I play a romantic piece, but I am just a complete beginner. I don't think theatrics are good, but real emotion must be expressed in my view.

I will take your advice though, keep it simple, but let emotions come through if they do naturally.

@zenflare keep it simple... I think the interpretation and how you play it remains what's beautiful... Not all the acting part... Who cares if you shake youre head or smthing. First I thought it was all natural, but when I knew they were actually working on it... I didn't like it...

Playing... Just play... It is what's important. Trust me :)
