I'm no expert on the issue of senate reform by any means, but I honestly don't see how my country is being benefited by paying these gentlemen to bicker about nothing all day.

This is like watching a Strata council meeting. People act like this in any committee, on any subject.

Hats off to Senator Tommy Banks here for making an honest effort to make the tone of the meeting civil and move things along by bringing the two parties together.
The others should look to Senator Banks as a role model for future meetings. This should not be about egos, or partisan sniping, but serving your country.
This is an example of where partisan politics does not belong in the Senate.
And sadly, this little display did a disservice to hardworking Senators from both sides.
