Bottom line, we elected them, now we own it.

Had there been some restraint on spending, and fewer fed government mandates that promised matching funds, we'd be in a much improved financial situation today both here and in the entire country.

Shrinking government decreases spending

We hope our elected officials will show some fiscal restraint. It appears they can't help themselves. VOTE OUT THE SPENDERS.

Your argument is that the people of California want & can afford higher taxes? For bigger government? The elected Republicans have one piece of leverage in California-the budget. The Democrats can pass any other unnecessary legislation that they want without minority consent. That is why we have global warming legislation, a law against dogs loose in an auto, and almost had a law against spanking. There should be a rule that NO legislation can be debated or passed until the budget is complete.
