Requested many months ago and finally made.
A montage showing some named skills from the Code of Points that were actually performed by other people earlier. Generally this happens when people never get to go to a world championships but occasionally the FIG like to remind us how dumb they can be and just name the skill after the wrong Romanian. Smooth.

  • I thought a 2 1/2 twisting front layout was a Randi

  • @ShawnVikaKomova2012 It is sometimes known as Randi because it is called that in trampolining, where it was done first

  • I would be so pissed if I was any of the gymnasts who did these moves first.

  • The FIG is horrible when it comes to naming skills, i Mean Aleftina Priakhina, she did 6 (!!!) new skills back in 1986-1987 and she did not got credited for one of them!

then you have the DLO full out, (chusovitina) it is named after her while it should've been named after tatianan Tuzhikova. but no, the FIG named a full-in DLO after her (she really did a full out). All the G skills are named after the "wrong" person.

If Priakhina got credited for her 6 skills she would've been a legend!

  • @tumbler5962 wu jiani said that back then in the 80s the chinese coaches werent sending naming new skills so they didnt send in the thing for it to be named after her

  • man i love watching this video. so interesting to

  • if two people debut the same skill at a world championship or olympics, who gets the credit for the skill?

  • Another one I came across is the Yurchenko Loop on balance beam. Wu Jiani of China performed it in her 1981 World bronze medal winning routine, which is 2 years before it was named after Yurchenko in 1983.

  • @LaVoix555 it was ful turn

  • Very interesting, thanks for sharing

  • what abiout the Fbaricnhnova on bars? it was first competed in 91 worlds by FERRAZZI, but was named 2 years later

  • @makT890 never

  • I love the clip of Shishova - the woman behind her sees the skill, her mouth falls open, and everyone applauds.
