The reason is that people on some level refuse to allow their view of reality to be stretched too far. It causes too much insecurity to contemplate that if there are actually UFOs in our skies that it is also a very short leap to consider the possibility that they may be making special contact with certain humans for reasons not fully understood. It's far easier on people to draw the line at some point and just label those whose experiences go beyond the comfort zone as "kooks"

I would like to say that the extreme passion that both sides of this argument have, do not and cannot sway the others beliefs. Now weather you believe in God, and Jesus doesn't really matter in this arguement. But if you are going to say that you believe in aliens flying in spacecraft and doing extremely strange things then shouldn't you give the next man some respect for believeing in a devine creator?
