I really miss this ice dancing pair. They were well-matched and I've always thought that Gwendal was such a handsome young man and I love how he kept his hair long( I love men with long hair). They deserved the gold medal that night, but I preferred their free dance from the 2000 world championships to Carmina Burana.

There's always been a difference between the American and European view of figure skating. The American view if mainly about entertainment and athleticism. The European one is about ART and ORIGINALITY above all. As I saw this program for the first time at Europeans in 2002, I was jawdropped, couldn't express how it made me feel...The MLK speech works perfectly with the concept, there's an idea behind it, such a majestic and moving program... This is ART ON ICE on its highest level! <3

he has such an interesting solo part, which is rarely in men dancing on ice!
-
Oh, god forbid art should have any meaning! Stupid, prissy American idiot.

@portishphonic well said

Oh my Martin Luther King's words bla bla. Shut your face! This is majestic ice skating.

THIS ANNOUNCER SHOULD SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT HIS FEELINGS OF THE MUSIC

These announcers are such hypocrites. If an American dance team had used the words of MLK in their performance, they would be calling it revolutionary. Did he really just "trivialize" ice dancing by implying that it is unworthy of those words. Maybe he should go find another job if he doesn't respect ice dancing enough. Also, it goes against MLK's message to impinge on anyone's freedom of expression. Maybe NBC was just trying to improve their ratings by creating false controversies.
