I think I could act better than that woman.

@2206411411 Indeed!

@Songsmirth The plan's useless without final instructions. Without the governess, there's no spy in the camp to send information. She's not terribly bright, but it would seem that she's trying to goad her enemies into a frontal assault that might see them killed. Garcia's duelling pistols indicate he's a confident shot and he'd have the advantage of a building that offers protection of sorts. With no time to think of options, I can understand her taking that kind of a gamble.

@Lyrictheac In Victorian England, it was expected that men would show no emotion and that women would do all that on their behalf. So not only is this more accurate than the Rathbone tellings, it is also a masterful depiction of Victorian ideals. As such, I'd say ACD would have approved of this as a way to explain his world to late 20th, early 21st century people with no direct experience of Victorianisms even if he'd have rejected it as a drama for Victorians.

@notAbba Perhaps. But at least it's more accurate than the videos with Basil Rathbone. :P

This is one wimp of a woman. She gives away all their plans immediately knowing it will get her companions killed. Makes no sense. If he's so "indistructable" then why does he sleep in a different room every night?
