'Stand Up' is my all-time favorite album. Well, no ... it's a tie with 'Aqualung'. The former as a romantic set, the latter more as an intelectual expression. To me, those are two superb works by Anderson and company. But there are just many, many other songs that are top-notch Tull quality. This 1968 album, 'This Was', is a classic in and of itself, even with the short-lived contribution by Mick Abrahams on guitar.

you're right bud.....when you say "Ians" best, you really hit the old nail on the head chum ,,,,,I" just liked it better when it was a band (not just his)vision .........rock on!

Take your point, this was, was something else and I agree, there was some crap after that, but there was some absolute brilliance as well. In a way we are both living in the past. I saw them in 1970 and thought they were magnificent. However you cannot write off stuff like Aqualung, Thick as a Brick etc as crap. Best wishes from the Mingeral.
