This is a clip of The Last Waltz Ensemble playing King Harvest at Tipitinas in New Orleans. The Last Waltz Ensemble, based in Atlanta GA plays the music of Bob Dylan and The Band
Wonderful version of King Harvest. You have to catch these guys live!. Benji Shanks is a worldclass picker.
And in the spirit of the Last Waltz, guests are plentiful. I recall seeing Sean Costello guest with them on one of his last ever performances. RIP Sean.
Disagree with 1peoplesun - jamming over a tune can be very respectful. It's tricky to re-interpret. Joan Baez's "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" is a classic botch job. But you gotta respect taking chances.
I think this works great, even the rearrangement with the build up of intensity. And where you heard Steely Dan I heard Allman Brothers.I live in New Orleans, and I'm sorry I misseed this performance.
not a bad version though, nuanced.

Amazing. These guys really have the 'feel'for the material. King Harvest is a very difficult song to do justice to .. but this is true genius.
