This is a powerful message, but you left out the end of the song. Here it is:
But "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" 2 Chronicles 7:14. There is always hope if His people turn back to God.

@Airwarriors1 Hmmmmm. I have carefully read & Considered your statement.Taking into consideration that the Man singing this song is a Christian & a Preacher whom supports & believes & Preaches Jesus. Then, I MUST conclude from your statement that YOU Hate Jesus. That would explain YOUR Hatred of the words of a song that lament the fall of this once
mighty Nation, due, as a matter of fact, to the very likes of YOUR KIND.
As this Nation has slowly turned it's back upon God, God has done likewise

Always nice to know what the other side thinks. Even if I don't agree with the anti American Setiment. Perhaps you can find a better nation.......no then shut up.

Totally agree but I do enjoy the blatancy of the symbols in this age of political correctness

Thanks for posting.
This song is like Eve of Destruction, it still fits in place today with America.

I'm an old, old, OLD Barry McGuire fan from his New Christy Minstrels days. I think what I like most about him is that he refuses to shut up and he always seems to like what he's doing.
I remember a dj back in the 1960s commenting, after playing his "Child of Our Time" that "this guy could make Brahm's Lullaby sound vile." Maybe. In any case, he always gets his point across.
America bashing is easy. Doing it with style is hard. Thanks, Barry, old pal!
