A time-lapse video of me building the DIY Austin Ribbon Microphone Kit.
Using my kits, you can build a professional Ribbon Microphone with simple hand tools, in one evening, on your kitchen table... Just like I do in the video!

Visit www.DIYRibbonMic.com for complete kits, DIY plans and instructional videos.

  • @rickshawproductions can you make a tutorial on how to put it together and what you used cuz I'm completely lost

  • @Blue23502 I have a fully illustrated tutorial with 50+ images and drawings, plus a full set of video instructions showing each step on my website: DIYRibbonMic

  • Pretty Good work Rick, I enjoyed this video (also you should have record a guitar or something with the mic) voice capture was very good.

  • @Shan23Studios, Check out my website (DIYRibbonMic) for sound samples from my microphone kits, recorded by actual users of the microphones they made!

  • Which kit are you using for this mic?

    Great video btw!

  • @EloquentSpeaker, This is the Model 1 Kit. However, the only difference between my single kits is the transformer type, and each transformer has the same number of wires, so the construction is virtually the same!

  • So cool. Adding this to my "studio to do" list!

  • @rickshawproductions Can you make another tutorial so that we can actualy know what you used and how to put it together? Just saying

  • @rickshawrecords Xcellent sounds, the acoustic guitar was pretty GOOD,

the pipe organ, the piano, ...strangely no distort, is the membrane acting like a compressor too? only capture certain decibels and atenuates the excess? Very good samples.

  • hey dude...give it away :D I really want a pro mic but I don't want to spend a lot of money in it :D
