That's what he was referring to; kids who got into them later but claimed to have loved the band since Vivida Vis.

I really really miss Against Me. At the same time I don't because of Tom. Like when he did that interview after all the old fans got pissed, and he said something like... Well back in thoes days only a few kids came to the shows and maybe one kid would sing along... yeah maybe in the 90's.. but after the "band" started All the kids were there. They came to Tallahassee so often back then. I don't think I would even go see them now. It wouldn't feel right. I'm not against making money....Tom was.

back in 2004 i talked to Andrew at the Troubadour in LA and he said Tom didn't want to play the DBTB songs. And then again in 2005 before a show I asked Tom if he thought they might play anything off that album, he proceeded to laugh at me and say, "no way". Then he they go and play it now, now, after that crapfest known as New Wave. I'm jealous and slightly bitter, the crowd didn't know what they were getting.
