North Las Vegas Police are still investigating whether charges should be filed after a one-year-old boy drowned at a local daycare center. It happened Tuesday at Marisela's Daycare, a business operated out of a private home. While nothing can replace adult supervision, News 3's Denise Rosch explains how one local swim school is working to prevent such tragedies.
At the Henderson Multigenerational Center, Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is all about preventing the unthinkable. Gail Robinson is the instructor. She says infants as young as six-months-old can be taught to roll over and float. It's an emergency measure, but no substitute for constant parental supervision.
"Children are sensory motor learners, and so we teach through touch," explains Gail.
