@94SGU Ok, I was told 21 by a serving family laison officer about a year back???

@gavin911911911911 When you apply to most forces you have to be aged 17 and 6 months the recruitment normally takes up to 6 months but you have to be aged 18 when you become a police officer. And then serve a two year probationary period. After that you will be allowed to apply to be a specialist or promotion. Their are even 16 year old support officers. I can't find any police department or constabulary that say 21.

@strathpol Sorry for late reply, had alot going on! I'm not 100% sure in Scotland, but I think it s the same as anywhere else in England or Wales.

@strathpol Got the cap, just didn't when I made the vid!
Regardless if the uniform is legal, if worn in public with the words “POLICE” you are impersonating an officer no matter whether it’s latest uniform! Also possessing current issue equipment eg “ rigid handcuffs” without legal license you are also breaking a law.

@copshopper These aren't worn in public, rendering your first point invalid.
The rigid handcuffs are ex-issue, ie: no longer current issue. Approved for re-sale to a surplus shop, and then from the surplus shop to the public. Rendering your second point invalid.

It is illegal to have ex-police uniform with POLICE writen on it as I gave my son my old uniform and had to remove all police badges. There is nothing wrong to have ex uniform though!!

@copshopper Section 90 of the Police Act 1996. My uniforms are possessed for a legal reason(Emergency service uniform collecting) and I am not calculating to decieve any members of the public, so it's legal to have uniform with badging.
