Dave Coleman's Eyesore Racing Datsun 510 before it was crashed, rolled, and repainted with Rustoleum. This footage is from the 2000 Ramada Express International Rally. Those helicopter shots are from the freakin Grand Canyon!

  • That 510 sat in front of my house in a neighborhood with an uptight homeowner's association and some nosy neighbors. I kept getting nasty letters from the homeowner's association about my inoperative car being an "eyesore". I had to turn the car around 180 degrees each week just to prove to the nosy neighbors that it ran! I ran my first rally with one of the association's letters taped in the rear window, and Eyesore Racing was born...

  • So this is the video .... I know understand why Josh Jacquot is the ultimate definition of monkeypower. His pushing skills are amazing :p

  • Begs the question, where did they come up with the name "Eyesore Racing?" If it was something really ugly like a rusted out Edsel, you could understand, but these Datsuns aren't anywhere NEAR that bad lol

  • I miss the golden days of SCC mag with dave and josh!

  • i am not even kidding... this vid just gave me a boner

  • Nice vid. Damn back when it was Speedvision and not Nascarvison...

  • I know the last run i'm aware of Dave Coleman was running an sr20de in the 510, though he placed DNF due to heating problems. Go Dave! Where's josh now? Reading the One Lap WRX trip with Dave and Josh was the funniest!

  • That was too cool man. Does that Datto have the original motor? I'm getting a 1970 PL521 pickup with the little 1300 in it. I'm going to turn it into a rally truck, but keep it all stock under the hood besides maybe a 5-speed and all the top-o'-the-line tune-up parts. What do ya think?

  • awesome.

  • My two favorite cars of all time... My '71 510 and my '85 Rx-7. Sweet movie!
