Rescuing MTD Garden Tractor

An MTD Lawn Elite thats been sitting in the bushes for months, hasnt run in years. We tried getting it running, which it wont do because it isnt getting any spark. Frustrating.

Pointless ignition... The people on one forum i looked up said these things dont usually last.. They just come and go...

One guy replaced his three times... Fourth time he replaced the engine with a honda... Haha...

why dont you just put a mag off of one of the engines that you got from Rich. Like the one we saw in the "unsticking a briggs engine" video?

looks like the same coils on any briggs including my 95 briggs probably should be able to scronge one of any briggs

u should try to clean the magnets on the flywheel because they are probly rusted and clean the rust of the magnito.

It's an 82 or newer cause it's electronic ignition, i call tell by looking at it.

I have a couple around that you can have, what Hp or Cubic inch is it?

I might have one that will work if i can find the darn parts engine in the shop... also like brand new online i found a bunch brand new for like $20- $25.

you sure you have a good condencer and clean points? if not get a magnetron magneto cheap off ebay, juat be sure it will fit your engine. you will have to reasearch it alittle bit but it can be done!
