It feels like a short sample of something longer. As if it didn't have the time to fully build between the two instruments. I'll have to listen again a few times to properly get a feel what seems missing.

I love the sound here of what I assume is Lyra's Lyre, but any videos of anything played on a lyre I find have a very different sound! Can anyone help me identify the instrument (if it is a lyre, then the specific type) that is used for this?

Well Lyre is a very broad term for many types of instruments depending on the country of origin and way it's played, but it's not exactly easy to find a plugin for that - so what's used in this is a close relative to the lyre, the harp.

@EveryPonyVideos That's what I was worried about :/ I would love to learn an instrument with this sound, but I don't want to deal with such a large instrument. Thanks for the quick response, though!

Have you looked into the many different types of Harps?
Harps exist in many, many cultures and thus have many iterations - while the huge one is the most well known visually there are plenty of other ones, like take the Celtic (or is it Minstral?) Harp is a bit more manageable as far as size goes.
