I am responding to the Unsung Video on Phyllis Hyman's addiction to drugs, men, food & alcohol and to her suicide. We need to acknowledge other factors that may have led Phyllis to committing suicide!

Phyllis was loving to a married man who was also the head of the mob (Mark Formica) she did not know he was a mobster. He forced her to commit suicide because his wife was going to divorce him and she found out and she was going to get the proof. @sandroeleven ...I was almost about to shout when I read your response. Thank God for real people that doesn't mind keeping it real. If those christians that judged Sis. The Bible is just as clear about suicide as it it about it not being OUR place to judge or condemn others i.e. take the PLANK out of your eyes & stop focussing on the SPECK in anothers eyes! Also, it is not our place to speculate about her relationship/ standing with God - for all we know she reached out to Him with her final breath. @1975tooto thanks for sharing info a year ago about As You Are, I gotta find this track! I fell in love with Phyllis when Gonna Make Changes and Somewhere In My Lifetime both came on the radio around '79. I loved everything this woman was putting out! It's a good feeling, sharing love for Phyllis.
