Guess the Soviet done better than the US are in Afghanistan, atleats in Afghanistan when the Soviets where there the Mujahadeen hid in the mountains and the Soviet installed goverment lasted three years after the Soviets left when the CIA estimated it would fall in three months, the reason the communist afghan goverment fell is because Russia stopped giving aid, In Afghanistan stoday Taliban walk freely and have presence in major cities, Taliban as they are called even captured mustafar-2007!!!

This is the Counter Heli to the UH-1 and it is a lot better than the UH-1, in all ways.. I have seen Cuban Mi-8 with fucking 4 UB-32 rocket launchers, 2 23mm guns, a PKM in the nose and a PKM in the door.

@blackhatch46 maybe it's because of the scale on which both CH-46 and Mi-8 are used, don't you think? Mi-8 is probably the most exported helicopter in history - and it's use became some sort of "tradition" in quite many countries. CH-46 is slowly phased out, Mi-8 still holds on.

Ho-ho-ho, you think mujahedeen ran a lot of USSR bases? AND FUCKING CITIES? How would you fucking explain the Talibs ravaging *abandoned* bases (yes, the war goes on but the bases are already left)? And how would you explain Taliban monopolizing the world's fucking opium trade, nearly quadrupling the world's production (afghan production rose like tenfold) while they were supposed to be drained of income?
