too bad you can't use this strategy on any worthwhile fights like the dragons, on the other hand the glitches to beat the dragons is much worse for ranged units

Funny, how does your ranged DPS NOT get aggro considering your tank is not doing any damage to heighten his threat? The threat mechanics in this game are built similarly to WoW's.

Either way, I have this on Xbox 360, and I've never had to use that kind of strategy. Whenever I can't beat a boss with my main character (city elf warrior), I just assume the role of Wynne and heal as everyone else lays into the enemies.

I never use this tactic and I'm on hard mode.  I find doing this is just lame.

Considering that the game is HARD AS FUCK if you don't do this kind of thing (I dare you to charge the darkspawn overtaken bridge in the dwarven kingdom), I find this tatic acceptable.

Too bad that the game has SO MANY ARCHERS you can't use this tactic all the time.

And mages will fuck you up regardless.

Yeah the mob spam means you either use massive cheese or bring more mages for crowd control. You lose out on so many good interactions in your forced to take Morrigan and Wynne everytime the alternative being a mage yourself of course but the game is Dragon Age OriginS and not Dragon Mage...right?

Yeah, I never got to use dog that much, which is a shame. It was pretty much Morrigan+tank+one of the two rogues to travel around, and in serious situations (dragon killan) Morrigan+Winne+the dwarf.
