Owner of the Japanese Pokemon Platinum can receive the special Rotom Secret Key from anywhere in the world.
No other version of Pokemon Diamond or Pearl can receive the special Rotom Secret Key

The rotom keep their stats and types, just gain different attacks.
Each attach type have their strength and weakness, but Rotom can be changed to fill the role of your team.
