does the camera brand matter? I can shoot better than my friend with a 5D Mark I; i use a Nikon D90. It's the PHOTOGRAPHER, not the CAMERA that matters.

I have a D40 and love it. I got it because it was the cheapest DSLR camera where I live the cannons are a bit out of my price range.
