Brixton Splash 2007 pt1

Prominent members of the Brixton community decided upon holding a street community event in Brixton, centred on Coldharbour Lane. Events took place on 13th August 2006 and 5th August 2007- the annual event is called 'Brixton Splash' The event showcases an incredible range of home grown talent in a fun-filled community setting.

In 2007 we had over 12,000 people come down - more than doubling the 2006 total. 2008 promises to be even bigger and better!

I've lived in Brixton all my 32 years and I love it and the people. I've never felt scared walking down the street, like everywhere there are bad places you know to try and avoid. I love our multiculturalism, watching old West Indian women pushing their trolleys through the market buying breadfruit, sweet potatoes, fresh fish and the meat for sunday dinner. I love the smells of the west indian take aways, people preaching on the street. People of all shades, different accents. I love my Brixton.

brixton people fi know... the 7:36 am and the 7:56 am trains from luton BR on the morning of 7/7 2005 were cancelled.. the so called 'tube bombers' couldn't possibly have been on the trains that exploded. *this is a fact* 7/7 was an inside job. people fi know that. bless brixton bless.
