The Jo Staff is a bit shorter than a Bo and a bit lighter. No form...just quick practice.

  • I think we got in to a bad start. It wasn't my intention to insult neither you or your post. It was simply a response on some of the other viewers comments, about if you were ready for a fight. And I'm not trying to look better than anyone els, I just commented that what you're doing in the vid, has nothing to do with battle. And by the way, I don't assume that you're stupid, not at all, hell maybe I'm stupid, I don't know who Fred Phelps is. Sorry if I've offended you.

  • @jaeger500 That's cool man. No worries; no harm done.

You seem like a fairly fervent individual. I hope that sort of passion goes toward something great someday. God knows we could use more people with it in this world. You have my respect in that.

Best of luck in your pursuits.

  • Dick measuring contest...? What kind of a sick person are you? In fact your whole reaction pattern and attitude makes you sound like an eight year old. Believe me, I do know what practice means, but I can say this; If you want to learn how to make a punch, then don't start to throw around your arms, like someone had lit fire on you. It's stick fighting, not an umbrella dancing show in some kind of sick Kansas gay varieté. You don't have to be that fucking rude, it's called freedom of speech.

  • @jaeger500 "Dick measuring" is an expression toward one who feels the need to make himself look better by discrediting someone else. You attempted this by insulting my post on grounds that weren't even relevent to the vid. I have no intention of imposing on your freedom to speak. But if you can't grow the hell up and reserve you speech for worthwhile conversation instead of childish ridicule, you're no better than Fred Phelps and his ilk. I don't assume you're a stupid person. Don't assume I am.

  • Yeah maybe it looks cool, but what does it proofs? That he can twirl a wooden stick around the center of his body, and do nice "tricks" or does it proofs that he can use it in a real life situation. I'll put my money on the first. If you start twirling around the stick in a real life combat, all the enemy has to do is to softly knock your Jo with his own, and you'll drop yours on the ground and probably die.

  • @jaeger500 Haha, right. Listen, I can't agree more. Anybody who actually resorts to twirling like this in a live fight is a dumbass, agreed...but never did I say I'd use this shit in a fight. It's called PRACTICE. You know, that shit you do when you want to get better? twirling trains your hands, eyes, center, and feet to move when/where you want them to...not how to win a fight.

So don't start talking shit like I'm some 8-year-old, or you want to have a dick-measuring contest or something.

  • Nice man havent seen this in awhile! just showed a couple friends this shit man we need to Kendo sometime!!!!!

  • Good job man. People who talk about how this sucks and you couldn't win a fight with it obviously have missed the "art" part of martial art. Not all parts of martial art are developed to be lethal or even effective in battle. As you have stated it is to train your body to move as one. It helps concentration, dexterity, and stamina which are all skills that help in many aspects of life to include a fight.

  • The only thing that would have made that better would be for you to have stayed in the camera's vision the whole time! lol. But seriously, that was very impressive.

  • awesome but how are you spinning the stick?..whats the length of the stick??..i practice using a 1 inch thick hardwood dowel..but i dont know how to twirl?

please show an instrucitonal example of how to do that please?
