I used to go downtown a fair amount club's and such. As soon as you came up the escalators at Granville stn. there was people aggressively begging for change. And then about every 50 feet after. I used to say to people i don't smoke pot but i've been down Granville st enough to know what it smells like.

Poodtang1: That's a pretty sad commentary on this city. There are so many drug addicts that we can't have public washrooms. The art gallery recently closed their washrooms as well.
I teach international students in Vancouver, and it's embarrassing to have to explain why there are no public washrooms like there are in their cities.

From Heathrow-airport to Soho-London = $10 CDN about, 1 way.
About the buses i have to agree they are unreliable. That's why alot of people won't get out of their cars because the bus / transit system is crap. Unless you live in Vancouver.

I've lived in the GVRD for all my life. I remeber when the Expo line opened.
I know for a fact that non of the stations have washrooms because of the crime factor.
They learned this the hard way when they took out the washrooms at Waterfront staion because of druggies.

Looks great to me.
Wish we had something as good in Los Angeles.

In Beijing and London, I'm sure the airports are not as close to the city centre as Vancouver's is, so of course the fare is much more.
I have been on public transit in other parts of Canada as well as abroad, and I have to say that this is by far the worst I've experienced. The buses are unbelievably unreliable and many, although not all, drivers are awfully rude.

first of all the Canadaline is being run separately from trans link by a private sector so nobody knows anything about them yet. I have to say that I still feel that complaining about the Airport fees is ridicules. I agree about the translink needing to get its act together and yes I agree the Zones are pretty stupid and not efficient.
The trains are quite good, now that we don't just have two lines that go the same place anymore, but the stations are pathetic. Very few have any shops or conveniences of any kind, and not one in the whole system has washrooms.
