Despite widespread concern over the situation in Zimbabwe, one of Mugabe's staunchest supporters says he should not be demonised. Zambia's first president, Kenneth Kaunda, sat down with our correspondent Yvonne Ndege, to talk about what he thought needed to be done to tackle the problems.

  • As A Son of Africa,

Kaunda and Zambians I salute you for the brave sacrifice you made so that Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, and Namibia would be free from European Tyranny and occupation.

we must never forget the importance of Zambians in the liberation struggles of Africa.

  • Kaunda is spot on with a lot of Issues.

Former colonial powers are going to crumble without Africas resources and they are the ones encouraging corruption, genocide, and chaos.

  • But of course...one dictator defends another dictator.

  • right on mugabe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WHAT A STATES MAN AND SON OF THE MOTHERLAND

  • @TruthandJustice101 Don`t try to reverse history but try to improve from what has been happened. Working together is the way forward. Whites and black are all equal then both have to be taught that we are equal in everything.

  • @errolli Gud instead of africans fighting let us work together to improve the future of our children.

  • @rochillz and who buys weapons? It is another african like you and me. Africans should not buy weapons to kill one another. If the west produces weapons and finds no one to buy them then they run out of business.

  • One dictator kisses the ass of another dictator. Is anyone surprised by that? I sure as hell am NOT!

  • @jkdxb1 No he is not!!! Kaunda wanted Mugabe to chase the whites at independence and Mugabe refused in the presence of the British. When he says they should not demonise Mugabe it is because Mugabe believed the British than he did his own brothers. And they turned against him when he went to help Kabila in Congo though they later killed the guy. But his brothers knew all along the treachery of the British. Hence the support to this day for Mugabe in the South.
