  • yes- the gradual tempo change is a desired effect on the arrangement of this tune...

    you guys have my poor drummer in tears with your comments.. as opposed to listening so much to our intended tempo change, listen to the way he interacts with the soloist and how he aids in their improvisational development

  • I think the added accelerando was to give an effect to lead into the soloing that something good is coming up. The effect exhibits the communication and focus the whole ensemble has for each other because they execute it so accurately.
