http://www.tweaktown.com Last week we visited the Albatron headquarters here in Taipei and got a good look at its new optical multi-touch technology with their 42-inch LCD HDTV and 22-inch LCD monitor products. Robert from Albatron firstly provides us with an introduction to the product and then shows us a range of touch applications and games using the optical touch technology using Windows 7. That's the oposit of responsive.. Did you see the image drag'n'drop things? It misread his moves and the images were lagging.. And in addition, only two fingers multi touch? This must have BIG cost advantages for it to be interesting..

@Lukeh47 3 fingers would still not make it multitouch as defined by the industry today. 3 finger to scroll is generally a 'gesture' and not actually independent 3 finger multitouch. There's clearly some issues (I'm sure they've improved since then) in regards to how it works. For example, it has occlusion problems causing the rotation gesture to rotate the wrong direction.

@cerupcat Actually this does have multitouch, he just didn't use it. You can use three finger touch to scroll I think.

interesting demo but the touch applications seem pretty useless for general usage.....unless your fingers are too fat to use a mouse ? ;p
also, the three finger erase mode on the drawing program looks mighty inaccurate.

This is not multitouch, this is dual-touch. The iphone/ipod actually has up to 5 touches whereas this only has 2 for a much larger surface.
