Many name changes ago (the hotel is now called the Radisson Hotel Winnipeg Downtown), the Northstar Inn had a catchy jingle, and a good deal for out-of-towners who would visit the city to shop on Portage Avenue. I'll bet this is completely alien to many of you in the city... (CKND, 1980)

  • Nope...that closed down when the Famous Players SilverCity Polo Park opened. 14 new screens at the cost of 2.

  • If I recall correctly this building was the second tallest structure in Winnipeg before the Trizec and TD Center were built.

  • I had forgotten or didn't know that the Northstar Inn was originally owned by the CP Hotels chain.

  • It's the Radisson now, I remember seeing T2 at the Northstar movie theatre.
