This is the last installment of the " How to change your timing belt " video series. I am sorry about the video quality. I had to video and do the work myself. I hope that seeing this will inspire you to tackle other jobs on your car or truck. Who knows, you might take a look at that lawn mower that you were thinking about throwing away. :0)

  • @gnnlt76 Does anyone know if this procedure is the same for a 1.5L? Mine is a 2002 with 53,000 so it has to be done soon.

  • I needed to change the belt but I only dared when I found your video! I and a friend did it on a 05. It took 4h and we had 0 experience. This was a 2 person job for amateurs but its really possible for anyone thanks to you! Because of you I decided to do it myself. Instead of paying 650$ and wait 3 hours with a eh coffee I spent 150$ (includes gas, the belt and the tensioner and a 12pack of expensive beer and meals) so I saved 500$ and I had a blast doing it with a friend!

    Really, many thanks.

  • I want to change my timing belt, but not sure whether I dare. Do I need to change the water pump as well?

  • I HAVE A 08 HYUNDAI ACCENT I WAS DRIVING HOME AND MY BELT BROKE NOW IT WONT START IDK WHATS WRONG HELP

  • nice vid, you should have turned the engine two revolutions before putting everything together though

Hi John, very great video. I had a timing belt break and it ate a exhaust valve. It is a 2002 1.5 Hayundai Accent. Is there a valve adjustment on this model? I dont see anywhere what it could be. Any help at all would be appreciated.
