An explosion leveled Burlington County house Tuesday night.

It happened just before 9:30 on the 900 block of Edgewood Lane (at Nassau Road) in Cinnaminson.

An elderly woman and here dog were at home when the blast happened and were rescued thanks to the quick thinking of two neighbors.
"I went and looked and I saw the older ladies house on fire," neighbor Ron Ruppert said.

"I knew she was in there," Ruppert said. "We tried to get through the front but there was too much fire so me and another guy... we ran to the back of the house and she was standing towards the back of the house with the dog."
She taken to a local hospital with burns, authorities said.
The dog also survived the blast.

"God was definitely looking out for her there was no doubt about it," Ruppert said.

The house was entirely leveled and the siding on neighboring homes was torn off by the violent blast.
Firefighters were quickly on the scene to put out the fire.
People miles away -- as far as Palmyra, N.J. -- reported feeling the blast.

  • If the concussions were as bad as everyone says, and could be felt from miles away, why are the windows in that house, directly next door, not broken?

  • @sirmelancholia Becuase they are facing away from the explosion?

I have seen some footage from this morning and the side of the house facing where the explosion was is completely covered with a tarp and neighbors have said that their were indeed broken....

either that or we are all just making this up

  • @ofeydofey So the explosion only traveled in a 30 ft wide path and in one direction?

  • @sirmelancholia I just said an hour ago that there was a tarp covering the whole one side of the house and that neighbors on the other side reported windows broken. How obtuse can you be?

  • People across the river said they felt it. truly amazing she survived!
